I heard it has been good, I plan on heading up next week and spear Winnie next week. I have done pretty good over the last 3 years. Bring pan fish rod, there always perch coming thru on usually some nice ones. The normal red and white decoy has been the best for me. I also have a live decoy in the hole.
I have never went thru Dixon let us know how you did.

Came back from spearing on Winnie (3rd River area). 6 guys, 2 days of spearing totaled 1- 38″, 1- 34″, 1- 31.5″, 4-24″ and 1- 19″, angled 1-5# large mouth bass a couple smallies (released) and a dozen or so of 6″ – 8″ perch
Just got home yesterday from big Winnie. Fishing was not good. Spearing was better. My son set his spear house16 of water mid lake. My wheel house in 26. Lots of small perch, no walleyes. We sat Monday afternoon in the spear house in the snow storm got 2 northern seen 6. Tuesday was white out at times, so I spent my time in the wheel house. Hope Dennys gets the road punched in this week. Watch for the ice crack. Heading back on Monday. Last year same spot we would see as many as 25 fish a day. Deep water is fun but takes lots of practice. Need a heavy spear and a long rope. If you see walleyes coming through, thump the bottom hard with a rattle jig and most time the will come back and smack it. You see them that shallow in the day time, the feed bag is on. Fish on!
