Would also have to agree.
You need btu’s for initial warmup. It doesn’t take much to maintain it. Our 8 x 16 used to have a 5000 btu vented empire that heated the house perfectly once it got up to temp. For a cold start we would fire the propane lights and the cook top to get things rolling faster.
This is an interesting discussion and I am curious if it would work. Someones gotta be the guinea pig!

I like Bam-Bam’s idea. I have pondered the same for years…. but I never considered pex, cause it was not around then…. I was thinking copper, but I like the pex idea. It would be cheaper and more forgiving when hauling the shack around.
I think Bam Bam could host a class and teach us this as a science… I would love to see that radiator-heater set up you spoke of sometime… that’s just bad ass ingenious for a garage.
Back to fish houses here
As a modification, I would have conventional VENTED propane for heat, like a nice Williams vent through the wall. Cheaper than Empire, just as good.
But, go ahead and do the hot water through the floor. Have a copper run that goes past the hot part of the propane heater. As the propane heater provides that more instant heat, the copper length starts to warm the liquids in your in-floor system. Most of the runs would be pex, but the part that is near the furnace would be copper, just a few feet. Once the liquid reaches temperature, you start a very simple pump. Now, the propane heater is just maintaining the water temperature, and the in-floor heat eventually makes it all toasty, with a warm floor, no cold spots, etc. But you retain conventional propane in case of GLOBAL FAILURE of your in-floor system (and Zombies come, the world ends, eel pout begin WALKING UPRIGHT on the ICE, etc)
To summarize, I think a combination rig like that would be cool. Just me.
