made it out to a lake north of town with a friend. fishing slower but still managed a few smaller walleye to supply my guest with his first fresh dinner of the season. water temps ranged from @53-64 depending
the sunshine depth. still seems a little cold for the crappies to come in, although we got a couple reports of an evening bite just outside shallows. Walleyes caught did bite kinda weak although catchable,,,fished from @9am-8:30pm. slight variable wind on and off all day ,mostly sunny. dark stain lake. 3-4 inch rainbow chub drifting @ .5 orange/white 1/4 oz jig. tried small worms & jig under bobber couple hours in bays for gills with no luck. but, it was yet another beautiful day,,,good luck

Good report. I’m going to try around McGregor this weekend. I’m hoping them big slabs move in and I can get my fill. I’m going to try for some walleye on the Big Sandy too.

It was definitely a tough weekend. Water was 49 Saturday morning. First lake we tried had nothing shallow and we couldn’t find them deep, it was a clear lake. Second lake was a bit darker and we seen a few crappies shallow and got a couple walleye but it wasn’t very good. Third lake was very stained and the crappie game was on full force. We got a nice haul for a fish fry. 1-4′ of water.
