Be careful, I know some are driving but its highly variable. Anywhere from 16″ to 7″ depending on where youre at! A truck went through yesterday on the north end according to Geigers trails end resort. I would definitely give them a call first as Bill plows roads out of there and helped out with the truck going through yesterday. As for fishing I was there 2 weeks ago and did great for eyes and jumbos….

There was a lot of slush on the lakes I went to last weekend. Still 12-15″ of ice below that.

I was just informed that most the small lakes up in that area are nearly impossible to get on now, this from locals.

Just finished a trip to Bowstring.

Ice was 12″ and clear on 12/22/16 with a couple heaves off the NE shores.

Fished Bowstring for the first time on 12/29. We went out of Geiger’s and Bill was very helpful with ideas of where to try. We targeted eyes in two different spot with no luck (missed a few). Decided to look for crappies with good success. Two of us kept 10 all between 10.5″ and 11.5″ and probably threw back another 30. They bit on everything from spoons to soft plastics to set lines. The crappie bite made the drive well worth it. Very impressed with the lake and Geiger’s resort as well.

Hey guys and gals, I am sure this has been touched on, but is there any type of a night bite on Bowstring if a guy were to stay out on the ice at night?

I have my spots, I am just wondering if there is anything to be caught when the sun goes down.

                              Thanks everyone and be safe!

                                Buffs,

I hear the night bite is ok. If you are getting into them though keep your hook sets discrete as possible as you will have a higher likelihood of getting “parked-in”. Good luck!

Shammy- Could you hold those things closer to the camera! Just Kidding, I know they were true 14’s as I took the damn photo! Matt and I are good at cock blocking people from sneaking into our fishing area.
