I use the Mr hearer cooker I have a 6ft hose it hookes up to 11 llp tank which sits out side. My favorite thing to cook on it is omlets: prepare them at home and put contents in a freezer zip lock bag boil it in a pan on the heater cooker and you have an omlet with no mess or pans to clean. just throw the ziplock in the trash I can’t wait for the hardwater. grandpa Jack

I have been using a Mr.heater cooker for the last 5+ years and love it but have thinking about trying a big buddy. The coice between buddy or big buddy I will be going with the big buddy. I like the idea of the fan and also more flexability with heat levels.

I have the big buddy. I’ve used the other heater but have found that the big buddy can keep up or out heat just about everything thats portable! Not to metion that it has the added safety features like turning off if it gets tipped over and a low oxygen device that will turn off the heater if the oxygen gets to low. I also enjoy the fact that there are less fumes as well!

I only have to use the fan on the really cold days and its one of those can’t live without luxuries when it is cold. You can really tell the difference that the fan makes and it will last around 8 hours using the D cell batteries.

I use mine with either a pancake style 11 pound cylinder or a 20 pound cylinder and a hose. No one pounders to deal with. I am thinking about getting the RV hose which is supposed to work better when its really cold out. Apperantly the regulator works at a lower pressure with this setup although I have never run into a problem with it not working.

The best part about it is I can set it up anywhere in the portable. The back of the heater never gets hot so I can stick it out of the way, in a corner, right next to the canvas and not have to worry about it.

The only thing I don’t like is that it doesn’t have a 13,000 btu setting. Currently it has a 4,000 – 9,000 – 18,000 setting. (don’t quote me on those numbers) some days the 18,000 is to much but the 9,000 is quite enough.

Hope yopu enjoy your Big Buddy as much as I enjoy mine!!

Well I picked up my heater tonight. It’s the Big Buddy. I took all the advice I got here, and comparisons and decided this would be the best way to go. Even if I don’t use both “burners” at the same time-I have the option when needed! That and having a fan was a plus! Now I can finally get on with the Mods to my QFII !!! <img decoding=” title=”” class=”bbcode_smiley” />
