Our group trip to Cass on 6/4-11 was great. Fish and weather cooperated.
With such a late ice-out this year naturally the weeds/reeds are nowhere near grown/barely any stick out above the water line.
Water was high and we could not get into Pike Bay so half our group trailered over there and found quantities and size of Rock Bass and Perch.
Dick’s Bay was putting out nice gills and as the weeks went by they moved shallower (5 per day limit on BG to max 20 made us come and go alot).
Made it to Kitchi on a nice day and kept a dozen small Pike….with 3 over 26″. Mepps and Copper Daredevle took most. Found some Jumbo Perch in the shallows.
Overall we got many large/jumbo Perch with 3 12″ers and 1 13″-a monster! We got many over 10″ almost all without trying for them.
Only 1 Crappie and half dozen LMB. But walleye were plentiful. Our group limited out for the trip mostly in the evening with jig’n’shiner.
