Well, i am settled in and fishing in south carolina, starting to learn some lakes and already getting into some nice slabs. Biggest this weekend was 13″ and alot of 11-12″ really liking the idea of fishing year rounds from a boat.

Very nice slabs micorps. I’d have to imagine you have a few more lines to watch down in that area of the country.

Yep i have rod holders to vertically 18 rods depending on enough people to watch them all. I usually vertically fish 6 for me and 3-4 for the wife. I will fish 6 for spyder rigging and long lining also.

Nice looking fish. Are those considered big, normal or small for down there? I would think with a longer warm aka growing season they would tend to be bigger.

Yes, Yes that is a 39" Pike.

I would say, based on catches and talking to experienced anglers, 11 is average, 12-13 is bit above, but is common for experienced anglers to catch quite a few over 13″. Ive only fished 5 times and alot of that time orienting myself to lakes. Ive only caught a couple on this lake under 10″. Other lakes have smaller crappie, but is great the local lake where i live has so many quality fish. I have coworkers who fish a larger lake a hour away that caught a couple 16″, really depends on the lake.
