Dead buck found

Walked to stand yesterday to find a 140″ buck dead just 15 yards from stand. Has an old wound on belly that’s pussed up and stinks. Hunted there Monday and wasn’t there. Warden came over and gave me a permit for head.

Wow! But your story really needs some work, you should definitely be telling people you shot it at 60 yards in full sprint just before it mounted a doe etc etc.

That is a very nice rack!!! On the downside, I know it happens, but I always hate to see a great animal like that suffer. Not blaming the hunter that wounded it, just the way I feel. I wounded a huge buck back when I got back from the Army in 1970. Brisket shot. My brother and my dad and I followed that buck for 3 hours. seeing some blood here and there and then the blood trail stopped. It went into a swamp where we could not go. Still think about it to this day. good luck.
