I talked Jim into making a run out west yesterday even though it was super windy. The wind was ripping and we started out drifting, but we were going way too fast. Then we tried dragging in a calmer area to no avail. Third try was to anchor lock up wind of some rocks and then we struck into some really nice smallmouths. We made one more small move and got a few more bass and then I hooked into a heavy one! After making almost a complete lap around the boat my very first MN 30″ walleye was in the net! We got some pics and a weight and she waved her big tail goodbye! Sometimes it pays off to get out even when the weather is far from ideal!
