Tightline is spot on regarding IC. Remember there are thousands more ic out there so there will be more reviews on them. Majority of reviews will be negative due to happy people don’t have a complaint. Also, regardless of which brand you buy to order with every square inch spray foamed top to bottom. Ic comes with a load range d tire, upgrade them to a load range e. There are too many other options to choose from and change to list here. Personally I own an IC, I wouldn’t say yes absolutely buy an IC but I wouldn’t sway you away from it either. It’s almost like the Ford vs Chev vs dodge…To each their own. Maintenance is a big thing. If it isn’t maintained it won’t last and will most likely break. Good luck with your choice and keep us updated on your purchase.

Just a thought if the total weight of the house is 4900 is it possible the frame weighs 1000 or more of that total weight?

Jriegel is spot on. The dry weight of the house is 4920 but 1500 of that is frame. The capacity of the frame is 5300 lbs. So the 17 ft rv edition is 3420 lbs of house on the frame. So you’re well under the 5300 capacity.

Yes I understand what you are saying, and I thought the same thing. I even asked for clarification from Berkon.

This was their response “The capacity is 5,300 pounds. That number is what the entire house and trailer weighs when you put it on a scale. So you can put an additional (5,300-1,520) 3,780 pounds on the trailer.”

So really the weight that can be added to the house is 380 lbs. I’m not sure if that 4920 includes propane tanks (if it doesn’t, looking at 5000 lbs).

That doesn’t include any gear/setup/ or water

Just thought I would update my post I went over to ikler bearing in St cloud today and seen that they are definitely building frames for glacier. The frames look well built and they box both ends of the shafts. The only frames I seen were 8×16 so I’m not sure if that is the only one they build or not

I’m on my second glacier ( upgraded to rv edition). This years glacier is far superior to IC in my eyes and the group I fish with (which all own IC) all agree with me and while swilling beers. . I sprayed foamed the floor and used 4.5 to 5 40# tanks on 28 days of fishing from URL,Leech and ML. Pulls down the road 80mph no problem. Excellent house. And the owner is a stand up guy.

                Ps. How do I post pics. <img decoding=” title=”” class=”bbcode_smiley” />

Where did you bring the house to get the floor spray foamed?
