So I am thinking of heading out tonight around 10pm for some channel catfish at Crooked lake. Never really done this in a lake before. Just looking for some CPR. How should i target these fish? I heard the outside weed edge after dark 12′ is a good place to start.
Should i fish the bottom or will they follow the scent? Id like to take it easy with a bobber with possibly some liver or smashed fatheads. but if the bottom is a better option ill def go that route.

Should i rely on my sonar and look for large arcs or schools or are they going to be spread out already?

No need to fish channels that late,They will be spread out.CoonRapids Crooked lake?? day time I”d fish the deeper depths darker light advance in all the wat to 1-2 ft.Fish the bottom with minnows or cut bait.Sliding weight no bites in 15-20 minutes move but try from 2 ft out to 10ft.There is a good population there,Even crawlers at night day time you’ll get every tiny fish pickin em

Of all the things I've ever done,
I aint never had Too much fun.
