Nice looks like about 3 or so miles out GREAT catch! Reminds me of a “regular” Minnesota winter from days past. Were all getting soft n spoiled these days.c63

If you don’t mind my asking, how deep were you fishing for these tullies? I’m headed up this weekend and hoping to get some tullibee action.

I was in 30-33′. I’m hoping to get out this weekend if it does not snow too much…..

Thanks for the information. I’m hoping they didn’t get as much snow up there as well. Good luck and I’ll report back after this weekend!

Hopefully some resorts on the lake will still plow to the flats, I doubt it though. Most resorts quit when the going gets tough.

I know Terry’s and Hunters have both posted saying they will no longer be plowing to the flats. Any word from Red Door?

Red door to Weimer/Bombeck north side of Resort flats. Their road system is good this year as the wheelhouse traffic/income has made an impact on the whole lake system. Good or bad the wheelhouses are here to stay.c63

That’s good to hear. We’ll be heading out from Red Door, so hopefully they’ve plowed into the flats. :)

                            I would say bad in general. But you got that right. It’s a new era….. <img decoding=” title=”” class=”bbcode_smiley” />

This was Red Door Facebook post yesterday.

For this coming weekend, we are going to open the roads to the first and second breaks and Bombeck and Weimer flats and hope that poor weather over the weekend won’t cause us to close those flats. We are no longer plowing to the Fletcher, Resort or Pantry flats so our only access to the mud will be Weimer and Bombeck though we will open up many wheelhouse spots on the breaks and available flats.

Sounds like a lot of those ice castle owners are stranded on the pond tonight. A lot of drinking lastnight at end of perch extravaganza- my guess is most weren’t sober enough to hook up the wheel house and put away the generator to get off early this morning. Hope they brought extra feul/ food or it’s gonna be a rough night.
