It’s been a windier than usual spring here in SD as of late, and the temperature has fluctuated quite a bit from week to week. Finally, some stability and calmer days have got the bite going a little better for me. The last several outings have been successful with a variety of presentations. We’ve been fishing using Leeches on bobbers working the slowly emerging weedlines which are starting to pop up with the warming temperatures. Pitching jigs and cranks over these areas have also been effective. Working the shallow, rocky shorelines will also hold fish at the right time of day – particularly towards evening. All fish have spawned out and are looking to eat, so once you find the bite it’s been an aggressive one.
