I decided late that i was going to TRY to go fishing today. Honestly…. this winter has been dismal for fishing luck. Anyway I drove to lake city and checked hok si la and decided to move on to frontenac which was a ghost town. Then i remembered that there was an older gentleman that said people WERE catching walleyes at maiden rock. I took the half hour drive to maiden rock. I drove out and did some hole hopping for a bout an hour and a half. and marked maybe three fish found the deepest water to be about 15 to 17 ish. The shallowest i found was 12-ish. once i got there everyone that was there when i got there had packed up..
Honestly thats a pretty good sign that the fish arent biting.
I didnt really know what i was fishing. sand, mud, and despite that not marking much. I decided to come home.
can anyone shed some light on this spot for me just because it is new to me and i am curious if it was just bad timing.
Ice fishing is heaven on Earth!!!
