Made it out for what may be my last ice fishing for the season. South Metro lake, hit the ice about 4pm on Saturday. we have dialed in a spot for a dusk crappie bite.
25ft of water, 22″ of ice. All the snow is melted away.
Not huge fish 9″ – 10.5″. Not great number but 20 or so caught from 5 – 8.
They wanted small minnows on a dead stick. When they moved through it was mid column. Then get their attention with a little jig then don’t touch it.
Waxies were never hit and rarely followed.
When we got out there the was two other setups, by bite time 8 or so.
Yes, Yes that is a 39" Pike.
