I see that there is a extended Pike season on Mille Lacs that runs through the end of March. I want to keep the ice fishing going so can anyone share some info of just some general locations to try this time of year? Thanks for your help and I will see you out on the ice. ” title=”” class=”bbcode_smiley” />

I never targeted pike on the pond hard water but knowing pike will start stagging soon to spawn wahkon bay and vineland bay or better yet get out on shakopee lake, public access on west shore head across the lake where the rum river flows in to lake onamia, smaller shiners this time of year if you can find them.

? good question, its connected via rum river which starts in vineland bay, worth a phone call.if not pike school at the head waters of the rum in vineland bay during spawn/ice out.
Hi SNOW, thanks for the info, I hope to get up there this Friday or over the weekend with the nice weather coming up, just need to find some decent Bait.
I made it out Saturday Mar 13th, not much action, I caught 1 small slimmer but it was still a beautiful day to get out, the ice was still 18″ thick but soft, I drilled a hole about 1/2 way thru to use as a can cooler for my drink and it filled with water within minutes, also getting tough to get on the ice where I was near the rum river in Vineland bay. I am hanging it up unless I hear of some crappie fishing up north.
