We will begin the process of migrating date from the current site over to the new site mid/late next week. The site will be down for a few days during this process.
There are some things that won’t transfer and here is a summary:
* Avatars will not transfer over. They can set this back up once they access the new site.
* Embedded pictures in replies/topics will transfer…but the Video and Image albums will not.
* Chats will not be transferred over either. We had to implement a new chat/message option on the site that wasn’t able to take migrated data.
*We are NOT able to migrate the LSF VIDEO or Fishing PHOTO albums to the new site.
If any members want to NOW save those entries before launch, you should inform them of this. Then, in the new site, they can re-upload after launch.
Here is some other information:
* ALL members will have the same password. They will not have to re-register or confirm membership or anything.
* ALL members will have a bit of cleanup to perform when they log in for the first time. We will outline these steps better with you toward launch, but the summary is:
*They will need to upload a new Avatar
*The following user data WILL migrate over and WON’T be lost, but they may want to review and update them:
bio / location (where from) / occupation / interest / signature
*Notifications will move over to ‘forum’ and ‘topic’ subscriptions in the new system – they won’t have to re-subscribe
