I went out of Red Door Sunday am. Had to walk as there had been lots of open water from the rain and wind storm just had just closed up 2 days prior.
We were on 8″ of “dirty ice”. Not clear at all, looks like lots of freeze thaw freeze cycles.
Navionics said we should be in 20′ but it was 18′, which lines up with the lakes being 2′ low.
The fish were there but seemed to want no movement and nor resistance. Apparently tip ups were getting 90% of the fish. Which lines up with no resistance. But for a first time out it was nice to feel some weight on the line.
We got blown off the lake by 30 mph gusts. The water was moving alot in the whole with lots of ice popping. We didn’t want to end up on the news if anything broke off.
Check out the webcam.
