Water clarity didn’t seem to effect the fish much. Definitely not much of a top water bite which was disappointing but the bigger fish were really crushing the baits. Like usual the old go to white spinner bait put numbers in the boat with a few quality fish also. The big fish bait was by far a Smithwick Rogue in any metallic finish. Fischer is really starting to get things figured out and might be out fishing me some time in the future? Not much better than-twitch, twitch, BANG!
If any one is interested the bull gills are also really on a tear. We found most our fish along a weed line in 9 feet of water suspended from 3-6 feet down. Pretty much as fast as you could catch them on a plain old worm and bobber.
Just killing time with the grass carp until water temps drop then back to the real fish. Not sure if any one else is excited but looking forward to a few full moon trips to Mille Lacs this year-of course that could change at any time!
