Bowfishing Association of America registers Nates River Carpsucker at 9.3 lbs, a Minnesota State Record.
I was honored to do a custom cast mount of his fish.
Original arrow was incorporated into the scene per request…..Attachments:

If it doesn't matter who wins or loses, then why do they keep score? Vince LombardiOctober 14, 2019 at 4:06 pm #714224actually our state won’t regonize a fish record unless hook n line unless they changed crtiria,as we shot a 85lb grass carp years back outof bald eagle lake, sucker was 52″ with a 34″ girth, thinking record fish we called the DNR they came out to see said fish and aged it,told us “no record for bow kill, aged the fish at 100yrs old picture is still posted in the hwy 61 bait shop across from bald eagle lake park.
great looking mount~

This fish was regonized by the “Bowfishing Association of America”. Not the Minnesota DNR
I hope whoever shot that monster Grass Carp got her mounted or molded. It would make a great fish story.
Molding it, like the one I posted, would have been the best option. A skin mount with a carp like that would have eventually deteriorated because of its high oil content.October 16, 2019 at 3:08 pm #714221thanx for clarifing Tim,”no mount just pictures and then fertilizer, stuck larger carp but arrows came out (belly shots) when they ran into a sea of mill foil, every year we still manage grass carp from 30lbs to 50 lbs during spawn and flat water ,early morning is always best before bass fishermen start pounding the shoreline and spook the carp.

I seriously doubt the grass carp was 100 years old as they were not introduced into the U.S. until the early 1960’s.
