3:00 update. Three 15 1/2″ers in the bucket, 2 11″ers and one slimmer that broke the line. At least that’s what we think. 4 were on dead sticks and one jigging. And 3 swings and misses. Oh yeah one white fish.

8:00 and last hour and a half been really slow. Till then it was pretty good. Released 5 more overs and put 2 more 16 1/2’s in the bucket. Most coming from dead sticks. Still plain red Hook being the best. Hopefully the evening is eventful. Update in the morning.

9am update. Rattle reels quite all night not one bite overnight till 6:00 this morning, a 15″er. Since then have had 2 misses and one 8″er. Weather is warming up and no wind. See how the day goes.

1:00 update. Put 2 more 16’s in bucket and 2 nice big ones missed at bottom of the hole. Biting really light today not smacking it like yesterday. Also a couple of smaller ones. Plus the best bonus was this 15″ crappie. It was released for someone else to enjoy pulling it up. Hopefully they will do the same.

That is a dynamite slab! They continue to show up with more frequency as the walleye population keeps getting pounded by pressure. Sure would be nice to see a decent fishable population of those show up again.

4:15 update. Been a pretty good few hours. Put another 16 1/2″ and a 16″ in the bucket. Also released a 22, 21, 18 and a 17 1/2 and a few small ones. Plus released another nice 16″ crappie. Gotta tell ya it’s hard to let them go back. But let’s hope more people do the same. Caught half on dead stick and half jigging. Plain pink hook a orange hook with a small minnow. Jigging with a small wonder bread with gold on the back tipped with half of a minnow. Hopefully it will keep up.

22″ at 5:45 and a 18″ at 5:00. Both on plain orange hook with a really small minnow.

That’s another great crappie and a very healthy eye to go with it! Looks like a heck of a trip to this point!

9am update. After last update last night we had a 18,20,21 and some smaller ones. Rattle reels never moved. Nothing till just now. Pulled a 22 and a 21 within 2 mins of each other just as I was typing this. So hopefully it picks up. Sucks we have to go home today. Have one more update before we leave. Again it’s been a horse apiece on jigging and dead stick. So far it’s been a great trip.
