Rod Building Equipment

I am looking to get into building my own ice rods.

Do any of you builders out there have any equipment laying around you’d be willing to part with? Looking to get a basic wrapper and a dryer.

Would rather buy used than new just in case I don’t like it. I’ve been looking at the CRB dryers and wrappers.

Does anyone have any experience with them?

That looks like a great setup for the money. It has everything you will need for several rods. I built my wrapping setup and drying setup myself but could have saved a lot of time buying this kit. If it’s not your thing you will be able to sell it without losing much money. You will enjoy it more if you have the proper tools. Look on YouTube for others making budget setups if the price is too high. You can get away with a cardboard box with a couple notches cut in it but good equipment makes it much easier.

Have you used the rods you built with the kit? How’d they perform?

my advice would be to go order it and save yourself some grief. i started out basic coffee cup and using my lap to building a setup then finally just ordered one. I wish i did that in the first place. There is a reason you dont find any used ones for sale. good luck you will have fun
