Any word yet on safe, walkable ice out there? The only resort that is posting anything is Lybacks, he’s letting out tracked vehicles a certain distance, but I heard walking out from there was hell with the slush and snow.

I saw Garrison Bay had 6.5 inches according to a post on Ice Report, anybody confirm this?

Any news from the north end?

I’m dying to get out but haven’t heard anything, resorts aren’t posting, and I’m not a fan of risking my life.

I think it is a mess until Xmas IMO

But then I don’t go out until I can follow the 3/4 Ton with V-Plow to the rental LOL

No resort is going to let people out unless they are in one of the south bays. Hunters red door barnacles are reporting as little as two inches of rotted ice. I’m waiting.

            Hunter’s report on Youtube 12/12/19

3″ of ice under 20″ of snow does not make for Smiley faces.

            Sorry.

I went out of the garrison public access yesterday.. I walked out because I dont trust the ice conditions. We found 6-7″ of ice, but also broke through the top layer in some areas with the spud bar and moved around those..there were areas that were flooded from the snow.

I wouldnt drive my snowmobile out there right now, but felt fine walking out to the first break…though it did suck pulling the gear through all that snow hahah
