My dad & I are thinking of heading up for the weekend. I’ve always heard March is the time to head up. Is it possible to get around in a truck? If not, can you get around ok without wheelers or snowmobiles? Thanks for any info!

I would NOT recommend truck travel ONLY. The snow is hard but the wind has made for drifts. Quads with or without tracks or sleds would be my recommendations.
        SORRY.

Just got back from Winnipeg. We did see some trucks out of the west side but when we were out with the guide we drove all over that lake and only saw tracked vehicles. Some guys were making it around fine on 4wheelers but they weren’t out as far as we were either.

I think if you tried to get anywhere away from the crowds with a truck you’d either beat it to hell or spend most of your day digging out instead of fishing.
