I have actively read the forums on this site for some time but I figured it was time I made an account and posted some reports.

Made it out to the mine pits for opener and had some good luck. Fished a busier pit on opener and my dad and I limited out on rainbows fairly early. Sunday I tried a different pit and had less action but better quality fish. Both days we cut a large hole and sight fished over deep water (70-90ft). The trout were coming in anywhere from 5-30ft down and hittting small tungsten and plastic combos with or without a waxie.

I always get pumped for trout opener because its one of the few times during the ice season I get to sight fish. Its a lot of fun.

Thanks for the report. Those are some nice fish!
