Tutorial…. Resize pictures.

I was recently asked to resize some pictures as they were to big to upload to
LSF. It got me to thinking a tutorial and a link to some free software might be
useful to some of you.

There are many different programs out there to edit images.

Many are very complex and expensive. I use and like Adobe Photoshop but the
average user isn’t going to spend hundreds of dollars on a photo editor.

Here is a link and tutorial to a free simple image editor. It will allow you to
simply resize, rotate and a few other simple tasks all with a few clicks.

Step 1.

Download PIXresizer from here
and save it to your desktop.

Step 2.

Once the file has downloaded, right click on it and choose extract all.

Step 3.

Go to the folder with the extracted files and run the setup program.

Step 4.

Launch PIXresizer from the start menu. It should open like this.

Step 5.

Click on Load Picture, and navigate to the image you want to resize.

Step 6.

Click on the size you want your picture 25%, 33%, 50% etc.

A good size for posting to the Internet or email is
around 600 x 450. This will vary a bit depending on size of your picture but if
you are close to that you should be good.

Step 7.

Make sure JPEG is selected as the output format. (Should be by default)

Step 8.

Continue with any other edits you want, rotate, gray scale etc.

Step 9.

Save Picture. A new window will pop up and it will ask you where you want the
image to be saved, it will also add the image size to the name.

Upload your new files to the internet or email….

There is also an option for working with multiple files. I didn’t go into it but
you should be able to figure that out once you get use to the program.
