So my neighbor and I decide Saturday is the last day of ice time for the season.

I was thinking Lake Independence due to research I had done. He was out on Waconia on Friday night and did very well. 9″ Pumpkinseeds, 12 – 13″ Crappies, Sunnies in the 9″ range galore.

      so we switch plans.

We talked about the change the weather could play but decide to go and go as light as possible. Which ended up meaning no Navionics.

Well we had numbers but these were some of the smallest fish I have ever caught. I have caught small fish but not ALL tiny fish before.

Oh well. It was more about getting out and it was a great day weather wise. Without Navionics we didn’t feel like walking all over and guessing.

All the gear has been dried and put away. Although the rods are still ready…. just in case.

Yes, Yes that is a 39" Pike.

The lake has a future, that much is clear!

It is harder to catch the tiny ones.
