I fished Friday and Saturday late afternoon into the evening on the same body of water. Wheel houses were coming out strong on Friday night followed by the first vehicle traffic of the year. I fished 18 FOW and managed a few fish on the 1/16 ounce pink forage minnow tipped with larvae during the day and minnow heads after dark. I brought a nice batch home for supper and they were fantastic! For those curious these were seasoned with Szeged fish rub, old bay, lemon pepper and a touch of Montreal steak seasoning. Top with butter, little bit of water on the pan, 425 degrees till done, 5-7 minutes.
Saturday, naturally, one of those wheel houses that was set up 20 feet from me had moved and dropped right on my mark. I set up 10 feet off of his south end and didn’t fare as well but still managed around a half dozen fish, all released. And of course…how bout those Packers! ” title=”” class=”bbcode_smiley” />
