A good friend of mine has property in Henning and we fished last Thursday in the west metro with little success so we made the decision to spend a couple of days up in OT area. The crappie bite had been pretty hot so I headed up Saturday late morning and we were in the house by 3:00. We caught fish consistently after dark both Saturday and Sunday. They were very aggressive when they came in. Waves every 15 – 30 minutes where we’d pull 5-7 fish between the two of us. All fish were in the 11.5″-13.5″ range with a couple handfuls of “metro” keeper throw backs. Chartreuse frostee spoon and red rattlin flyers tipped with minnow heads, tungsten and plastics and #8 reds tipped with a crappie minnow all had success.

His step dad filled his final tag Saturday night so we ended up with a little surf and turf for the weekend. Good times with great company and good eats to go with it!
