I want to buy a vexlair or marcum. I know a ton of stores carry them, but also the price can vary like a rollercoaster. What store would I get the most bang for my buck??

You cant beat the deal that Fishing Pro Store has on the Marcum Lx-3 TC upgrade for $299.00

Its not a store, but you could check out Ebay, I’m sure there will be some FL-18s available since the FL-20 has started to hit the shelves. You could also look at Vexilar’s Factory Outlet, they have reconditioned units at a discount price and they carry the same warranty as new (2 years).

I’d try to find a marcum, I think you get more for money with them vs vexlair. I have had both switched lasted year to marcum. In my opinion it’s a all around better buy.

Since you asked specifically about Vexilars in the post title-I’d check out Vexilar’s website. http://www.vexilar.com/purchase/direct/outlet.htmlThey have reconditioned units there from time to time.

*No, I’m not affiliiated with them at all-if I was I’d have one!

Otherwise I’d do as others have recommened-fishingprostore for the Marcum’s, I have no problem with reconditioned units-they are as good as new!

I have a lx3 tc that I bought reconditioned last year. It looks and performs like new. For the product you cant beat the price at the fishing pro store!

I was all set to buy a reconditioned FL-18 on Vexilar’s website but happened to stop in to Fleet Farm in Brooklyn Park to find one (Genz Box set-up) for $350 which is only $11 higher than the reconditioned one. They also seemed to have some good prices on FL-8s. For the most part though if you check around all the prices are pretty close.

I like the reconditioned idea. I have bought reconditioned electronics in the past and have never had a problem. I like it that much more that it has a warranty. But to change the toppic a little bit, is it worth it to pay extra for the Pro Pack II or should I just go with the Genz Pack?

I would say that the genz box would be fine. The only thing nice about the pro pack is that it fits into a bucket.

If I was looking for a new unit I would buy it from one of the sponsors here on the website. You gotta remember that all the advice and help they give us here is free, and they are always willing to help. so I would keep my buisness here.

No I am not a sponsor or affiliated.

Down the hole Chris? How big was the hole? We have a 9″ auger and my propack won’t fit down that hole thank god since there has been a few times it slid near the hole.
