I have a Nils Master bit on a cordless drill for walking out.
The Eskimo will mostly be used when I drive out so weight is not as much of an issue compared to durabilty.
I thought I heard that t P1 gearcase was not as beefy to save on weight.
The technical guy at Eskimo wasn’t available to talk this morning. Either way, I will be getting one, for me it will be which one is the more heavier built / durable.
so any input would be appreciated.

I think they are 4 years old. They were in a power pack for a emergency backup for a computer system. Our IT guy says it was never activated but they must be switched out every 4 calendar years. I haven’t tested every one but the ones I have are at 13.45 volts and I like to then see what the voltage is when it gets a load on it , like a light bulb.
Most batteries at the end of their life when they start giving you problems (cars too) may measure 12 or 13 volts but when a load is put on, they drop. I had one that immediately dropped to 9v and then 5v .
My Vexilar flasher was doing that. It was giving weird readings and the guys at Vexilar ( and the you tube seminar) pointed out that when a flasher starts acting weird it is almost always the battery
I will post a couple of pics of the voltage with a load on it.

I thought I heard that water must be changed out also because the acid build up from poop and the ox. exchange. ( look for the red burn marks on the dead minnow gills)

I have the Fatfish 949I also and heat it with a Hunting Buddy heater.
I think it is between the buddy and big buddy heat range BTU wise.
I also put a 2′ x 2′ foil faced insulating foam under it to keep the radiant heat from hitting the ice/ snow in front of it and making more of a puddle.

Do a search for plastic welding. either do it yourself or a local guy.
I ran into a guy one that had a side business called “Plasticaly New” that did repairs on racing sleds and motorcycles–but don’t know what became of it…

If you fabricate a home made adapter and have either a bolt or clevis pin with a cotter pin- make sure you wrap it and the shaft with electrical tape so it cannot catch on anything loose as it is rotating under power.

cost me the price of a cheap menards deep socket and a hex drive I had laying around. And McDonalds for the guy that welded it for me when my welder broke!

I made a home made adapter for my Nilsmaster and it gets comments from other anglers on how fast it cuts. I only have an 18V dewalt–wish I had the brushless Milwalkee.
However–I cut out an aluminum disc with a grommet for the shaft. the disc is larger that the hole it drills in case the drill chuck loosens up and the auger falls out.
I can’t my pictures of it that I posted a couple of years ago–but i’ll keep looking

Absolutly love mine. Guy in Northern MN is the only guy around that sharpens them and he tests them before shipping back.
Have mine on a Dewalt, and it cuts like butter.
I’ll try and link the guy’s info

I would agree with the battery. Same thing happened with my Vexilar and a different battery fixed it.If you know anyone who does biulding maintenaence, it is the same battery used in emergency exit signs. I have a buddy who got me some from a hospital maint guy and our hangar maint guy got me a couple . I made up a couple of power packs to run fans and lights in my hub, but one of them cured my Vexilar clarity issue.

I remember seeing posts last year that a guy used an additional cell phone hidden in his house with the locator service enabled.I don’t know how all that works, but the cost of another line is nothing compared to a 20- 35 thousand dollar house
