Got back 2 weeks ago, had a great stay at the Canalta-highly recommend. Got a 29″PB CPR, my buddy freaked out when he saw the head come up. Going back March 13th

I was there a week and a half ago, truck travel was the best 5-15 mph, east or west side had rock hard frozen slush. Guys on sleds were beat up, and tracks were worse, we left my side by side on the trailer.

Thanks for the info Canuck and witt12, saw some pics of Chalet on FB, didn’t look great, but looked do-able in a track machine.

Saturday found 5″ on a medium size lake near Lida, another angler found 2″ further out, great traction with 3 inches of snow, probably 6 inches now. Walleyes seem to be MIA, 3 outings and one CPR perch 4 inches ugggg.

If you think those jacks are slow in the summer? Just wait until it is 20 below! Got rid of my Ice Cabin for that reason, not to mention is swayed over 60 mph, probably had 700lbs + tongue weight. It took me minimum of 40 minutes to move and setup.

I would think so, likely 20+inches of ice. Guessing access will be beat up, derby is usually very close to access anyway.

I will be taking my kids to Ida for the kids fishing derby. Excited for the warm weather, and my 13 year old daughter actually wanted to go, wth? 2 years ago she caught a 11″ jumbo perch at the derby, didn’t know they got that big around here.

Heard Lida has been very slow for walleyes, and access is really heaved up. Fishing derby scheduled for Feb.7 Ice Hole bar is open!!

I’ve had every brand, Marcum is the only cam that puts its LEDs back away from the camera (sting ray look), helps so u don’t see all the plankton at night. Vex is good, but worthless in the dark

I go to Negril every year and stay at CoCo Lapalm, the MN owned resort on 7 mile beach. The glass bottom boat (parked there) owned by Rhondel takes us site fishing, he usually just drops a line over the side, and jigs, looking through the glass bottom. He also trolls, but like 5-20 mph. Deep sea fishing isn’t great there, but a guy I talked too says there are Tarpon in local rivers. Check youtube Negril tarpon. Bring the trolling rod and muskie type stuff, he really wanted pink octopus type stuff. Gifts of old gear and crank baits go along ways. Yah mon

Probably a little far for you, but FM Walleyes has a lake Winnipeg fishing seminar Feb 5th in Fargo or Feb 12th in Grand Forks, at Scheels locations. Check out their website, I’ve fished it, bring a spare everything, and drill, let me know when you’re gonna pick me up!

great thank you for the info, just not what I wanted to hear. It’s a big body of water, and you can’t be to careful.
