does anyone know if you sit the guy with the Marcum on the opposite end of the sleeper house to the guy with the Vexilar if that helps at all?We have one guy in our party that uses a marcum the rest are vex. Yes, there is interference, BUT once we adjust interference settings it really is a non issue. Also, if on opposite ends it will help too. My point is I wouldnt be too worried about it even if you are fishing next to him.
Thanks for the reply. I did find a place and booked with them. I hear ya on the ice. Im getting nervous there wont be enough ice at this rate come Jan. 15th.
we a bit of trouble finding them and found them after our 3rd bait shop.
It was not worth the effort because not a single Walleye was caught on a shiner in our party of 6. We did fairly well out of zipple but the dominant bite was on fat heads and some on rainbows.
You should definately check out zipple bay resort and their shallow water/deep water package. You get two ice shacks for your group. The sleeper is in shallow water and you get a nice early morning bite and rattle wheel action at night. Then during the day you head out to deep water and fish the day out there. I cant say enough how nice it is having to different ice shacks to fish out of.

Staying in warroad. Can a guy have a “catch of the day” supper there someplace? (meaning take cleaned fish to restaurant and theyll cook it) Any help appreciatedI think you may be surprised how much they charge you to cook your own fish. You probably gonna be better off taking your catch home with you and enjoy the resorts fine fish.

I’ve been using P-Line Floroice the past couple years and like it a lot. 3 for pannie rods and 5-6 for walleye.I agree that is very great line and i use a similiar set up but use 4 and 6. I have pulled in some huge fish on the 6 and thorne bro’s custom rod and have yet to lose a fish on a snapped line. last season i pulled in a 45 inch northern on LOW while jigging for walleyes on 6lb test. It was the perfect hook set for a fish that size otherwise the teeth would have made some easy work of that im sure.

Fished long point today out in 32′. Was up towards twin island and a fairly decent sized crack formed and opened 10′ from my house and shot under my pickup. I was able to move the truck before it got to wide to cross. We watched it open all after noon and decided to move the house this evening when it got to about 12″ wide. Fishing was pretty slow, Garden bound tomorrow.WOW i had no idea that cracks would open up like that this time of year. I can understand early or late ice. Man your lucky you noticed it when you did.

I would say the top 3 are all great manufactures but no need to “over buy.” People pay a lot for digital depth readout and it really adds nothing to your unit…except ease of use. Zoom is a nice feature.
Just a note if some werent aware, but any vexilar now can be updated to provide digital depth. It isnt cheap at $50 but i did upgrade my 18 and 22 with it and it has worked great. Its very simple install and upgrade.
either manufacturer is good, BUT if you fish with buddies that have vexilars I would avoid the marcums because they dont play nice with the vexilars. You will have to battle interference problems. Other than that I have seen them all and used all three and they get the job done.
if your gonna be hand pulling this around pay attention to the weight that eskimo wide is just about as heavy as some of the clam 2 mans. I been lugging my otter lodge around and while i love the thing i feel like its gonna give me a heart attack one of these days pulling that thru snow.

this last weekend was over 40 feet of water fishing for crappies ice was around 8 inches thickI cant believe they would be that deep right now….how did you do?
I did that years ago and it worked very poorly. I dont know if it was the quality of the panel or more due to weather frost/snow etc. All I wanted it to do was maintain a battery that was used only for lights and overall it was a failure.

When It ran it cut like a bat outta hell Ive just had to many problems with the recoil. ” title=”” class=”bbcode_smiley” />Congrats on the Auger! I have that exact same auger and couldnt be happier with it. Started right up even on the coldest of days this year.
