Nice job LOW.
I need to get started on mind.
I’m think after the Thorn Brother Mod workshop.

after nearly a season and a half of it, i’m contemplating pulling the whole works out though. its a heavy SOB and i struggle getting it in and out of my truck now a days. and i’m still a spring chicken compared to others.
its done its job but I think i need to be lighter for days when I fish alone.

That would be my biggest concern building something like this. I picked up my Canvas Craft 7 x 8 insulated this year and want to do a mod similar but do not want all that extra weight as it is already heavy as hell with no gear in it.
I’m surprised that nobody has come out with a “gear keeper” that is lightweight yet sturdy enough. I have some plans in my head that would probably work pretty damn nice, but would probably cost too much to manufacture.

i seen a 2 man otter with similar guts made with aluminum and 1/4 inch plexi glass wich was nice cause you could see all your stuff inside and the whole inside only weighed about 5 pounds

Nice JOB!!! I can’t even think about fishing without having a line in the water, so i would never be able to spend time on something like this. Effin Awesome man!

That does look pretty sweet, but I’ve always been concerned with adding too much additional weight. My son usually chooses to sit on the bench as I pull, so that’s another 50 pounds.
Does anybody have any mod pics of an Otter with the bench seat? When the canvas is down (for transport), the bench doesn’t lift up. I haven’t been able to come up with a good idea for a mod that will allow me access to under the bench when the house isn’t up.

when I first built it i never had a problem with loading it into my pickup alone, as I usually had someone with me…but lately i find myself fishing alone more often. much tougher.
