I have wore out my Sheels Outfitter rain gear and can’t find it any more. sadens me as I had this parka for almost 10 years and they were awesome but have lost there water proofing and are falling apart.
I am looking to replace them and cant make up my mind what to get. I am forced to fish in the wind and rain often and need quality and dry rain gear. What do any of you recomend?

I see they have even improved them again this year. You will pay for quality though; but with Cabela’s standing behind your investment, its well worth it.April 14, 2012 at 7:25 pm #485680eyesfish2 wrote:

April 15, 2012 at 4:13 am #485684If you get a chance, check out “Calcutta” rain gear. I bought their bibs and coat 3 years ago and am very pleased with them…….just throwing out another option.
My biggest worry is that my wife (when I'm dead) will sell my fishing gear for what I said I paid for it.April 15, 2012 at 11:50 am #485685I have had zero complaints about my Cabelas Guidewear. My dad has had his for probably 10yrs and no problems.
I actually just bought another suit a size bigger mainly for the spring/fall if I need more layers underneath.
They just changed the guidewear a little and the old stuff is on closeout. I got my jacket for I think $129 and the bibs for $139. For that price IMO best rain suit you can get.

April 15, 2012 at 12:41 pm #485686I purchased the Frabill Storm suit from Reeds and love the suit. I did have to return the bibs because a leak in the seat but had no problems with the return to Reeds. I would highly recommend taking a look at this suit. I fish Leech quit a bit and with the big winds and waves this suit has been steeler!
April 15, 2012 at 2:02 pm #485687Hi Tom. Ive been using Cabelas guidewear x300. Ive stayed warm and dry. Sometimes to warm, but better to be warm then wet. The only draw back is there is too much velcro. Lots of pockets as well.
Great rain gear. See ya in May.
April 15, 2012 at 2:25 pm #485688I think the parkas are 129 right now at cabelas. Not sure about the bibs.
