Glad to see a functioning site again. I assume more features and content will be added in additional phases?
I’m curious, do you have a plan for marketing the new site or reaching out to past users to generate more traffic and active users? A functioning site is the first step but without more users it can’t live up to its potential.
I can’t imagine there are too many people who are real attached to the look and functionality of the old site.
I’ve been project manager on more than a few major website overhauls and I’ve yet to manage one that didn’t take longer than expected. Thats just the nature of these kinds of projects, either that or maybe I’m just a terrible project manager. Either way, good luck with the rest of the project.
I can’t imagine they’d build a brand new site that has exactly the same look and functionality as the old broken version. Copyright on the bottom of the page also still says 2013.
I’ve been out 3 out of the last 4 days with a kdrill and no need for an extension.

I’m not sure what ice conditions will be like on the northern border lakes in April but unless you want to fish the Mississippi river those northern border lakes might be the only option I’m aware of.
I was out on Bald Eagle in white bear on Tuesday. I didn’t measure the ice because I just walked out with my portable but I didn’t notice anyone driving or out with any wheel houses that I could see. Looks like 4 wheelers and sleds are still the main mode of transportation. Although with the cold setting in that will likely change.
Ive always heard good things about Artistic Anglers but have no direct experience with them.
Thats scary. I worry about this all the time. I try to make myself visible like this guy did but by the time the snowmobile sees you it still may be too late. Far too common to see snowmobiles flying across the lake going way too fast. By the time they see you it can be too late.
Im not sure if my pm went through or not, i see it sitting in my outbox not sent box. If you don’t see the PM you can reach out to me via email aaron . opp @ hotmail (remove all the spaces and add the .com at the end)
I just sent you a PM. That sucks to hear about the lake. Was that this year? I was up there over new years and only saw 2 people out over the 4-5 days I was there.
Hoping I can still show my kids a good time on the lake.
We make it as easy on ourselves as possible. Every man is responsible for their own fishing gear, booze, sleeping bag, and clothing. Then we make a stop somewhere along the way to buy food as a group so we aren’t buying a ton of extra or duplicates.
I can’t say we’ve ever really run into an issue with forgetting significant amounts of stuff or having way too much of anything. Occasionally one guy, usually a newbie, over packs but they learn and make the adjustment on the next trip.
No issues on my end either.
But back to the questions. I have the kdrill paired with the Milwaukee M18 and doubt I’ll go back to anything else. With the 2 batteries I can drill 40-50 holes which is more than enough for my style of fishing. I have the smaller kdrill which is great for panfish but if I want to do tips ups for pike I’ll just drill 2 holes side by side.
When I bought the kdrill i was also in the market for a new drill so I figured I’d kill 2 birds with one stone which really made my money go further. Now I have a great auger for all of my ice fishing needs and I have a top end drill to use all year long.
Big bowl is about right. Very little in the way of structure to congregate fish in one area. If you find a single rock on the bottom you can call that a reef on Red Lake.
Biggest thing is simply to get away from the crowds and onto fresh ice. I believe thats what Johnny P excels at. I remember looking at booking with him in the past and it didn’t work out but I remember seeing that he has the ability to get into areas others can’t so he should have you away from the crowds which is critical.
Looking forward to seeing the new site. Hopefully it can become a vibrant useful site once again. Even with the changes I do still see an uphill battle. I’ve been a member of a number of forums over the years and most of them hit the wall a number of years ago and its been a slow demise since then. A few still get a lot of visits but the quality of content as diminished and the negative attitudes have increased.
Hope this one can be one of the good ones again.
