yeah — it’s killing me all over LSF — we have reservations already and will update with him — just trying to kickstart some chatter… not a good sign when only a mod answers!

A real shame that no one seems to use these forums anymore.  Thank you, lakeofthewoodsmn, for the continued reports despite the lack of activity.

Lindy’s rattl’n flyer is my go to up at LOTW — I have quite a collection — and have found that 1/4 oz is too much — 1/8 oz is too little — and 3/16 oz just slays them. Totally makes NO sense at all to me, but I catch very little on the other two — and catch loads of fish on the 3/16.

Pimples don’t come in 3/16 — pretty sure they have 1/3 oz, 1/5 oz, and 1/10 oz. I had some decent luck with the 1/5 oz this year (first I really fished pimples at LOTW).

I generally look first at 1/4 oz — and then see what the next smaller offering is — and if it’s not too small, I’ll go with that… but I have a ton of tiny jigs/spoons/etc in my box from that strategy!

info is a little dated, stubby — as we fished Jan 19-25th out of Arnesen’s — and we did all day houses this time. Joe has run the sleepers for quite a few years now and this year, he’s running all the ice operations. While we weren’t IN sleepers, we were hearing the reports and such coming from them — they were doing fine while we were there — but had gone dry on sauger — but that was the story for a pretty big swath of their area. Really weird as we always caught a ton of saugers with some eyes thrown in — this year, it was the other way around in some areas. They were hotter out at Archies/16mile. While we were into the sauger as much, we caught a bunch of eyes this time — my buddy and I averaged about 50 a day between us for the whole trip. And they kept us on fish — were willing to go the extra mile to make it happen — if you’ve been there for ten years, you know the story — good as it ever was! <img decoding=” title=”” class=”bbcode_smiley” /> I made a big post on around Jan 25 or 26 detailing our trip — we’re the goofballs who drive from Pittsburgh to fish your wonderful lake!

Got off the ice around noon today — definitely all frozen back up — it was sloppy over the weekend but the slush is now gone. Tracks are messy — but they were grooming paths beside the ones made in the slush. Should be getting better by the weekend. Folks were everywhere with sleds and personal track vehicles. Babblers road looked like a parking lot from Saturday morning on…

Dave (LOWFisherman) is correct — Dale/Connie Peterson have storage available right at Babler’s access…

Sorry I just saw this today — my buddy and I have used Arnesen’s sleepers several times. Plenty of room for two of us in their standard shed — four may be a little cramped but they’re designed for four. They have the basics — two bunks — they’ve made a small room at the back with the necessary drywall bucket and garbage bag for your bathroom needs. There is a small table — a full stove/oven (small apartment style) and a big heater — and propane light. No pots/pans/plates/utensils — have to bring all of that yourself. They seem to put the sleepers out in the mud flats to the southwest of rocky point — we’ve had slow days and good days. They’re fantastic people and will work with you — we’ve never come in for dinner or anything like that — but call the office and Ivy and/or Kay will do everything they can, I’m sure. Oh — and the huts are super warm — we hit the lake at -30 windchill for several days — and I slept outside of my sleeping bag every night. Top-notch service!

Outdoors Again on the main drag through Baudette had them last week — most of them were belly up by the time we got on the ice 90 minutes later despite being in a bucket with aerator… I agree with above though — fatheads were the ticket while we were out.

Yeah — we didn’t move around much — stayed on the ice the entire time. Need to meet up with you again one of these years. Slow one this year — but we’ll certainly be back!
