I was out on the 10th and the accesses were quite beat up and pulled away with water. I did manage to skirt around it and get on, by walking. The rain is what did the most damage. I would say they are non fishable/borderline. Best bet would be to check out your particular lake and bring the spud, as there are sure to be some soft spots.

I havent met you before but was just wondering what kind of paintings you do ? Outdoor paintings? Canvas? I saw you bought a z51 auger, what is your review for this auger? I know there a bit heavy but they look like a great auger. I like the blades also, as I re drill many holes and the lazer pro I had always jumped around the hole. thanks for your input and help. can’t wait for ice fishing.Life isn't about finding yourself.
Life is about finding fish.The eastern shoreline isn’t too bad if your going to fish the first break, and this year with the shallow water it looks to be 5 1/2 fow. now if you want to try say 8 feet it is going to be a longer walk. I noticed this in the boat the other day dodging all the sandbars, checking depths. be safe the good thing is that there will be many fisherman in this area if you get into trouble or need something, last season it looked like opener except the boats were replaced by otters and clams. I remember a few years back when I stayed after dark on early ice which isnt always smart I ran into some wolves on the way to shore. a couple circled until I started my auger. the next morning I think Jonny p posted a deer was taken down and killed by wolves down by the beach. That was a bit chilling! I’m not trying to scare you off, this was only one time. years back. Good Fishing!

Thanks for coming up to Upper Red and fishing with me. Im glad we made it up to the crappie highway for some slabs. You and your sons are great fisherman that fish hard or go home and I like that. Life is about finding fish.Walk out of Westwind or Hillmans Resort they have it staked out a ways already to 8 feet. You dont walk more then 1/8 mile or so right off shore. You may be able to use wheelers next week with this cold we have. Good Luck.
