I have an old small wood stove you could have. Not as nice as the one you lost but in good condition. I could send a pic to email or phone.
I’ve seen a couple 13″-14″ perch caught this year. All thrown back. Tons of tiny perch in the lake.
Nice puppy
Now the west side is wide open
Hearing good reports from the west side of ice out as far as can be seen. Cold nights & no wind or snow we should be good.
One nice thing about the K drill is they offer free blade sharpening. Figure I will send them in at end of season & be ready for the next.
I used the K drill that belongs to a friend for one hole last year & was impressed. Previously used an Eskimo propane 8″. Now have bought the K drill setup in 9.5″. Added an extension on advice of another old guy that said without it I would not like the bending over. I will try to remember to report back after using it.
A friend walked out on west side yesterday. Where the snow was deepest there was 3 1/4″, where no snow it was 5 1/2″. Not safe yet. Mille Lacs
Got them at Terrys last week.
As of today there is still plenty of snow especially on main lake. The usual pressure ridges to watch out for.
Out of Terry’s there is 8″.
Vented, no question.
Drove by Wigwam bay yesterday & saw two different guys readying portable sleds to go out fishing. Never saw them on the ice but thought it was just too early.
Every year this subject pops up with all the usual pros/cons. It’s usually the guys driving through the public access & getting on resort roads that complain. Just pay the people that are maintaining the roads & quit complaining.
Prior to last weeks snow & wind you could drive anywhere out of west side resorts like Terry’s. Probably still fine, people are catching fish all over out there.
