Have fished in Italy (a couple trips), Slovenia (a few trips), Ireland (couple trips), Scotland, England, Norway, and Sweden. Fishing in Spain in a couple weeks.

All DIY. Takes a little figuring out fillet knife, and regulations are weird/different (to a guy used to Montana’s), but I’ve always enjoyed myself and done pretty well.

Looking for a new knife but not sure if to go all out or stay conservative. A few options I’m looking at and wondering if you own or have opinions on… Havalon Barracuda (seems short with only a 5″ blade) Mora fillet knife Dexter wide fillet knife Cutco I was really interested in the Havalon but again, the blades seem short. I’ve read really good reviews on the mora and its very affordable, as so the dexter. If I’m going to drop some cash, is the cutco worth it? PS. I’m not going electric. I mostly fish walleye and panfish.

Cutco’s are amazing knives as well especially the adjustable one.

Hey everyone! This has probably been posted before but thought I’d try again. Looking for recommendations for a good quality fillet knife for my dad. He’s against the electric knife. He typically uses a cheap Rapala knife but I think he would really benefit from a good quality steel knife. Looking for any recommendations (no matter the price). Also trying to find a good and easy knife sharpener other then a whetstone. (He’s kinda stubborn and any kind of easy knife sharpening system that doesn’t ruin the blade would be perfect). Thanks in advance!
