Kirk was one of the main people who led to the demise of this site. Him and Potter drove it into the ground. No coming back now. It’s sad but true. there used to be a lot of good guys on here. RIP LSF
Congrats on the sturgeon! My dad always had stories of fishing on the St Croix at the old Nevers Dam north of Taylors Falls, and where the Sunrise and St Croix came together. He grew up in Almelund so it was just a short trip to get there. (the house he grew up in has been moved to a park right next to the Lutheran Church in Almelund) Pa was born in ’29, so that would of been in the 1940’s that they were fishing. Sturgeon, pike, catfish, walleye, bass, red horse and suckers – caught anything and everything back then — release was not an option, they had to eat! He always remembered one sturgeon as ok table fare, and the other not too good. Sure miss the stories… So do you know if that is a lake, or shovel nose sturgeon?
Lake Sturgeon are very good, especially smoked. Just like salmon!
Is there a way to post to local forums as I see no new topic tab?
To belittle is to be littleA new topic tab is essential to a site with lower traffic. I find myself not using the site, i’m not going to search around for a hot topic.

Is Shakopee lake included as part of the extended pike season on Mille Lac?For sure it is not…..Mille Lacs regs do not apply even on the Rum. The posted barrier is right on 169. Try Wahkon, Cove or Vineland, all good bets!
Denny’s is about the best resort in MN. They have an obese gentleman that will clean pike for $1.50 each!!!!!
Reinhard had the problem years ago when Potter was running it. he was too lazy to do anything.
He is very active on FB and seems to be eating very well. He looks to be an amazing cook! He can’t log in here anymore. Is Potter going to fix this site?
Even alot of smaller lakes are not iced over in the area. Might not be any walkable ice by then with the forecast of 40’s by the weekend.
That is great! Long overdue
is still alive. But honestly I’ve been on these forums for 20 years now and they are dead. The FB pages have taken over, they are not as good in my opinion but atleast they are lively. Mike is a fat lazy drunk who will not take care of his site.
Don’t worry we are all staying away from your area. we don’t want to overrun your hospitals. Good Luck!
Nice slabs! I was near Orr.
It’s definately a different world up that way, its still winter!
Nice pile! it’s crazy how conditions vary. i was driving on the lakes in Moose lake yesterday, 24″ and solid landings. Places that got that steady rain last week are toast.
