I like to think of LSF threads as a Bell curve…. starts out slow… then someone throws a jab and everyone gathers in to offer “their two cents” …. final part is the decay. Which is what we are witnessing.

Yes, when not wanting to support the casino makes me a racist meat hunter, it is time for me to leave the thread…..I’m around the lake all the time and constantly see empty boat launches so…Maybe they are at leech or something.

During the event you will see lots of boats following the elite guys around. Kinda like the people who show up in Mankato for Vikings pre-season. I wouldn’t doubt every access lot is full. This is a big deal for the Bass crowd.

Being a white fat guy who doesn’t own a gill net I won’t be at the Casino either. Funny thing, I’m not a Walleye guy. To bad……I’m sure I’ll be missed.

Agreed! Alot of people on here do not understand how big bass fishing really is in minnesota or the upper midwest. It actually has a very large following. There are just as many circuits if not more then walleye series. Its just up here walleye is king, and gets more attn.

Idk if there will be 15k people, but i bet they won’t be disappointed.

I fish mostly in Central Minnesota and I rarely see a bass fisherman. If there are so many why don’t they fish Mille Lacs? Are they all having too much success on Minnetonka? Plus a vast number of fisherman in the area will NOT go to anything at the casino. If 15K attended they would have to park from Onamia to Garrison on 169…. [/quo

Actually there are several tourneys on mille lacs specifically for bass. Gull lake has a few as well. Leech even has some. Its just not all about the almighty walleye anymore.

I grew up fishing mille lacs, and never stepped foot in that casino, but this is an event that i wanna see, and be apart of so yes im gonna go support the bassmaster elite series to hopefully see that they come back.

Also you don’t need a bass boat to fish for bass. There must be some kind of mythical story out there that says you have to.

I have a question…is this a casino event or a Bassmaster event? If a person wanted to go sit for the weigh-in, will the casino be charging an admittance fee? Or Bassmasters for that matter? Guess I wonder if you go sit for the weigh-in without going into the casino, how are you supporting the casino?

This is a Bassmaster elite event (Angler of the year). Not a casino event. I dont know if there will be a fee to go in or not.

On the Bassmaster website about this event, it lists the weigh in times and says all Bassmaster Events are free to the public.

http://www.bassmaster.com/attend-toyota-bassmaster-angler-year-championship-mille-lacs

I’m sure the Casino is hoping people will come inside, but from what I read, no you don’t have to gamble or stay there to participate in this event.

Would be cool to see some of the big BASS names like KVD and Hackney in person.

I’m with you guyz, doee’nt take long for a troll to pull the race card.

I suspect we’ll see some huge smallies, maybe 1 or 2 over 7lbs,if this should happen it surely will draw more bass folks to the area.

If your a high-lights guy the results will be on Tv(ESPN, friday Nov.11th I think) after the event. They also air it live on Bassmaster tv during the event. They condense the 3 days down to a workable time for tv.Just like making a fishing show…..ALLOT of time and effort goes into an hour show!I hope folks enjoy the tourny no matter if they watch live or on TV.c63

I heard from a fellow fisherman that the Mille Lacs Band is building a “bar” to serve liquor on the reservation. This a big change from what has been done or allowed in the past on the Mille Lacs casino property??
They are doing this prior to the big event to be held there….

Just what I heard?

I am quite sure the fellow fisherman were talking out their backsides.

Very cool to see Minnesota’s own Seth Feider make a big charge and qualify for the AOY on Mille Lacs. Seth is an absolute hammer on ML, and will be a favorite to contend for the win.

Saw a pic this morning of Mike Iaconelli’s first fish from prefishing…6.8 lbs. It is going to be a helluva fun event to watch!

If the wind is too much, they can just fish from the docks right? I mean isn’t that the only place those bass people fish anyways? Never understood the people with the decked out bass boats that just fish under peoples docks.
