Moon light showing waves this morning….BIG wind has not even started? By Saturday night after gusts to 40 plus…??

East/southeast side must have ice piled high this morning?

got up at 4:15 am when I heard the wind…only have some small ridges off shore a short distance currently. I’m wondering what those winds will do am Saturday…..big gusts 40mph

White caps in cove bay. It looks like there is some piles starting along twilight road. I will be going for a drive in an hour or so and check things out

From our “Perch” by the dawns early light…about 35 percent open–at least. By the end of today/or tomorrow? Maybe….BIG waves are taking a toll fast. No clear path from Isle to Garrison–yet.

This wind is crazy. Has the ice moved any houses off their foundations yet????

Sky pics from today–4/2/16–show SE half (or less by now) has ice. Next wind switch should make it move the other way and get it officially called “open/ice out”–as the “official” path to Isle will open up from Garrison. Tomorrow? Monday or ?? If it stays clear and the sky pic is clear as it was today–it makes it easy to call it.

As predicted…the wind switch over night/this morning has the main sheet on the move from SE to NW–about 3 mph. 10 am. and it is just hitting the Wealthwood shorelines and west of there. If it holds together, it should hit the Myr Mar point area square in the next couple hours or so. It has moved around 6-8 miles since the sky pic yesterday. Lots of momentum behind it now….

Well…..the wind laid down late morning and switched a little more from the east–less from the south. The ice has been moving slowly from east to west the past couple hrs. almost paralleling the north shore. Still moving/creeping west so who knows if it will make land again or not. Still about 2 miles east/southeast of the Myr Mar area just grazing the Wealthwood shorelines…

The sky pic shows ice in the middle now–surrounded by open water. No free of ice trip from Isle to Garrison–yet– but surely tomorrow. I doubt the ice will make land fall again….

I took a screenshot of the satellite image of the lake today. Looks like you’re right, shes about open now. Does anyone know how any of the lakes around mille lacs are? I have a cabin on Camp Lake so I was wondering if it was ice free yet

Been OPEN for a week… or more. Meaning Camp Lake per the previous question.
