Just a reminder that the Hunters Point event is tommorrow!! The lake conditions have improved since the rains have pasted. The reports are of some water yet on the lake roads and off road areas but much better!!

I will have a group out fishing this fun event and enjoying the day fishng perch, drinking a few bev’s and some grilled brat’s sounds like a good day for sure….

I copied this off the Hunters website…..

We went through to all of the houses out here today. the depth of water around the houses varies from hardly any up to 18 inches. The roads and ice are still in good shape aside from there being a bit of water on them. Our concerns with the water at this time is that if it freezes again the houses will be froze in and a pain to get jacked up. Again at this time there is no real urgent action that needs to be done, no houses are in jeopardy.

I don’t think we have alot of water on the ice. The snow cover in the Mille Lacs area has really gone down with the wind, rain, and warm temperatures!

Looking out on the lake this morning…the lake surface has taken a new darker color.

The temperature is going to cool down later in the week, I would think its going to get pretty hard out there than!!! might even be alittle slippery…..

I won’t get back on the lake till later on this week. will report back than!

I had a few hours on Saturday morning that allowed me a chance to wet a line….slow for this fisherman also! I fished a transition area that I hope to fish next weekend in the Hunters Point Perch and Pout contest. All I had to show for my efforts were 3 small cigar walleyes, a 10 inch perch and a Tullie…..I left the lake at 11am or so once the wind started to blow AGAIN…I plan to have more effort to put into this next Saturday. I’ll have a pretty large group that I hope will set out and drill a bunch of holes and locate a few active jumbos!!! last year our group had three fish in the top ten up untill just a few minutes b4 the cutoff………………… We enjoy ourselves!!!

but I know that the resorts want some regulation stability! It would shock me to see any change in the under 18 slot.

The lake is full of small fish right now….which is really good. What’s sad is by spring these small fish will be alittle bigger and many will be caught in the nets by our native friends.

I’ll bet a quarter that they open it back up to under 20″ for the open water season!

Yes I have, I am not a good canidate for Lasik…….they could correct my distance vision…but my closeup would be gone

what I was told is this: that the Drivewear lens are not effected by the UV sheilds that the auto windshields have on them. In other words, most or all transition lens don’t work very well when worn behind the autos windshield. They just don’t work…..where as the Drivewear work very well!

The negitive is that they never change to the clear state. they remain tinted.
