I agree on being ready to launch and load up when it’s ur turn. I would say people need to have a little more paitence and respect for everyone at the landings. Couple years back a friend of mine was 3rd or 4th in line and heard a guy yelling and swearing, he went up to see what was going on and here a older couple we’re having some issues with there boat and launching. Now this couple didn’t have a fancy boat or truck so he ran down and helped them out. This guy that was yelling and swearing at this couple had a 100k boat truck package, didn’t even bother to help. I’m one to help others and that story really bothered me. Having older or newer equipment anything can go wrong. Just my thoughtsBob "Bobber" CarlsonYou can tell how big a person is, by what it takes to discourage them! "Hooks"

This continue and wait is what they have been doing is not working and never will. If it takes 15+ years of charts and data to show you how or what is happening you better get a new job. Heck it was asked at the last advisory meeting how long it would take to generate another option with the discussion that was taking place. response was 45 minutes to hour….if only I would have brought my pc. My neighbor who works as a Electric Engineer and does alot of programing….laughed and said I could help with that and get it done in minutes…just who do we have employed and working for us tax paying citizens?? how qualified are they?
you folks need to attend one of these meetings and see first hand how are DNR performs………………………………………….unreal at times

Barnicles, walleye are camera shy! for walleye I would not use a camera unless you position it above the bottom looking down…

on the bottom of the screen you will see a blue dot with depth lines. click on it and you will be allowed to select either sonarcharts or navionics or gov.charts. select sonar charts!!! this should help

Yes, our roads go to the south end of Resort Flat. There is not much snow when you get this far out on the lake. Even the lake road at or near the so end of the flat has little snow so off road is ok with a 4×4 vehicle. You just have to watch for small drifts and “cracks”
whenever you go off road….watch for cracks in the snow!

Three days ago, I had to go out on the lake to hunt down a pick-up that was broken down about three miles out. The driver had been bajaing across the pressure ridges and made it through a dozen of them before he broke the A-frame right off and his wheel fell off.
He was unreachable by anything but chained lake trucks.
Unfortunately, it was impossible to tow him in on 3 wheels without causing thousands of dollars of additional damage to the truck, so our insurance doesn’t permit us to chain up in this case
I gave him the number for Northland Towing and Lake Recovery and left him there in the shards of ice that ran along a heave as far as the eye could see.
If you’re planning on going cross country through some of these pressure ridges, you should have this number: Jimmy Staricha, tel:320-676-3718.
(Make sure your insurance is paid up and you have the time to wait hours for help to arrive.)Great Post and very well said….

People don’t realize what speed does to the sheet of ice. I witnessed the “wave” once down on Madison Lake in southern Minnesota. A car was going across the lake about a half mile away from our fishing group. They were driving a high rate of speed….40+ and you could see the wave in front of the car………how big it was I can’t say. But to see it from that far away says it all.
Atv’s can create a wave on early ice also…..
10 mph on early ice and 15 mph after….is my rule of thumb. I waved a guy down on his speed on my trip out to the end of lake road early last Saturday morning. This guy was driving a Dodge pickup and had a snow dust storm behind him as he was coming at me….maybe 25 mph….I opened my door allowing him to see me! he waved his road pass at me in his window…..really pissed me off……..guess he had no idea what wrong he was doing……..must have thought I was looking fro his pass……….next time buddy you might be getting wet!
Thank you all for driving slow and understanding to take care of the lake and roads……its so easy to ruin it for all others
