you’ll be fine on metro lakes was out on white bear the other day 18’s

no extention but my 2′ extention fits inside my strikemaster flite so its always handy if needed.

I never targeted pike on the pond hard water but knowing pike will start stagging soon to spawn wahkon bay and vineland bay or better yet get out on shakopee lake, public access on west shore head across the lake where the rum river flows in to lake onamia, smaller shiners this time of year if you can find them.

Good question, mid 90’s for me on mille lacs 42″s stood on my trucks tailgate to get a straight hole otherwise the strikemaster lazer with extention would corkscrew so bad you couldn’t see the bottom of the hole.

Same year on lake michigan 48″s 1st time out with a honda 4 stroke auger, good thing we had a backup strike master along with a 2′ extention.

18″s of ice on white bear lake, good solid white/clear ice might be awhile before we’ll drill up ice cubes popping holes, some of the best panfishing occures when surface water siphon’s down the hole,me wearing a t-shirt catching rays, fun times ahead.

same applies to open water Balzy Lake erie walleyes will average 3-6lbs with a possible 10lb’er + different pattern of successful walleye fishing on erie being best results are trolling planner boards over suspended schools.

lot’s of action on devils as well, june mixed bag, walleyes, white bass a nd pike, maybe LOW’s is worth considering.

So will we see more mishaps as folks target gear lost on the ice flow?

suspect some won’t be-able to resist the temptation.

pretty sure dog tooth is iced up in april but Late ice on Erie is productive as well as devils lake, not much size on DL but action with 2-4’b’ers plus jumbo’s/pike.,bigger fish on erie, great fishery.

I recently moved to south dakota, lots of great action near webster area on these shield lakes or chances of a pig on the missouri near chamberlain SD,my backyard is the missouri,in april bring your shotgun for snow geese as they will be migrating, jig walleyes and pass shoot.

Early ice on the big mo was great with low water level, could actually site fish.stuck a few pigs.
