There is nothing wrong with a nice batch of memories out of the freezer for the dinner plate!

Made another run and had some success. The primetime has been the key. 4:30 – 5:30 produced the best bite windows. Except for the smallie, who smoked it at 3:00.

You’d better call up to some resorts because the members of this community officially left the building over a year ago. Sad to see…

3-31 FOW on a 950,000 acre lake. We’re really narrowing it down here!

Nothing is cheap on a boat, however, I have found Dingmann in Annandale to be best customer service and bang for your buck price wise. I had him rewire my starboard side of the trailer after some mice found their way in over the winter and do a full winterization and it set me back $250 this season. Three years back it was a new bilge, remove a swim ladder and mount a new set of whackers on the back, full winterization and that came in at $280. The motor is a 4 stroke so synthetic oil. Post COVID inflation crosses all lines it seems. But to echo E4L, they are not an investment, they are a money pit that you love to have.

Great pics Joe. Tough to beat shots of active wildlife.

Great pics Joe. There’s something about the snow that sets off the scenery.

You can’t hit them every time out. End of the day it sounds like you had an enjoyable trip which is all that matters.

I’ve still got the LSF hoodie and beanie. I haven’t had an LSF bumper sticker for years now. I was never able to participate but I do remember the metro gettogethers on the ice and October full moon trolling trips on Mille Lacs. The days of Thunder, Kirk, Ret-ro, gmeabrake, and Reinhard being on here frequently have all gone to the wayside at this point. I try to stay as active as possible but your are correct, it’s the same handful of guys left hanging around, and they don’t seem to have much to say these days…

Made another run with my friend this evening. The bite wasn’t quite as hot be he got to take home a limit and a bonus walleye.

Now that makes me hungry! Looks fantastic. I see you must be utilizing Walton’s – they have some great stuff!

We did utilize Walton’s. We have used their products the last 3 years and have been nominated the official unofficial ambassadors and they graciously sent us shirts and hats.

The modern flashers have all really caught up with each other at this point. I would say Vexilar was king of the mountain for years, however, Marcum and Humminbird have certainly closed the gap. The new technologies such as Garmin livescope and panoptix  are worth considering but not necessary. I would recommend the Vexilar FL28. I have fished with the FL20 for years and really enjoy it. I then went to Devils with a guide last March and he set me up with a couple of FL28 units and the brightness and clarity is night and day between the two models. I think most Vexilar owners would verify that they have been hard on their units over the year yet the keep on ticking.

I hear you with the par cook. I typically will pan sear the loin first on low heat to render out the bacon before transferring to the smoke at 200 for around 30 minutes but, it was Sunday, there was football, cocktails were had, and the easy route was most appealing. Still turned out dang tasty!
